Moving Forward. Embracing Change. Forming Partnerships
NOTE FROM THE EXECUTIVE BOARD
"Local businesses teaming up to promote and protect their interests and those of their home community — that’s the definition of a chamber of commerce. They have an important role to play." Crowley, P. (2017, October 4) [Editorial]. The Adirondack Daily Enterprise. The Chamber is Saranac Lake's business hub and the opening paragraph in the October 2017 Adirondack Daily Enterprise editorial summed it up well. The Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors are working to bring more services, more engagement, and overall a welcoming environment for businesses to convene in Saranac Lake. The Board is excited for the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce to once again become the 'hub of business' in our area.
WELCOME CENTER REPRESENTATIVE
Cassandra Hopkins is our Welcome Center Representative in Harrietstown Town Hall. She is ready to connect with the community as well as make Saranac Lake a place that visitors want to return to again. Cassandra graduated in May of 2017 from Clarkson University where she spent four years studying political science, including one semester spent in Saranac Lake for the University's Adirondack Semester. Since coming to Potsdam she has made the North Country her home and is happy to finally live full time in Saranac Lake. When she is not working, Cassandra enjoys spending time outside exploring the region canoeing, hiking, and going on walks with her puppy, Lila. Cassandra is looking forward to being a part of more Chamber events and working to make sure the Chamber fulfills its role in the Saranac Lake community.

President of the Board, Keith Braun stated, “Patrick brings to us a mix of nonprofit and economic development experience and a passion for the greater Saranac Lake community that will lead to great things for the chamber, its members and the surrounding community.” Patrick is excited to take on this new role and plans to help the Chamber continue to reach its goals while being the leading advocate for local businesses and community economic development. He expressed his eagerness in a statement, “I am very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work at The Wild Center and I am grateful for the community building experience gained through my positions there. Combined with my community and economic development background, I am eager to start my work with the chamber board and the membership to hit the ground running and advocate for our local businesses.”
